Lake Weyba shock: Just looked at the 2009 prologue results,- a thin slip of a girl called Shara Gillow weighing in at just 64kg won the 2nd most important event of the year (after the King Kunda Cup)!  And the greatest prologue ride of ALL time set back in 2004 by the Legend of lake Weyba aka Leighton Jefferson still stands, a glittering, but slippery and elusive prize so many have attempted to grasp. 77 riders fronted the start line last year which would make it the biggest event of the calendar. In the words of 'Da Champ' 'bring it on!'

The all time top thirteen fastest riders at season launch Prologue  (since 2004):

Leighton Jefferson (2004).................3:27
Tony Mann 2007.............................3:29
Dahl Drew 2008………………...…….3:29
Leighton Jefferson 2003...................3:30
Steve Strickler 2004........................3:31
Bill Stock 2003...............................3:35
Colin Dick 2003..............................3:35
Matt Wolstencroft 2003...................3:37
Mainard Gael 2007..........................3:37
Evan Pilkington 2007.......................3:37
David Weir 2007..............................3:38
Dahl Drew 2007...............................3:38

Evan Pilkington 2008………………3:38

Are you sure about the 64kg???  If so she must have been carry all her medals with her.

BM, I had the 64kg figure from her father, but Shara has confirmed it is actually only 58kg which makes that ride at Lake Weyba prologue 09 even more impressive. Do you have any hot tips for prologue winners this year, what is the inside goss from the coffee grind?

I'm pretty sure it will be a dark horse.  I have it on good authority that none of the brightly coloured horses will be there.

Most of the hall of famers are either injured, retired or allergic to water.

Morning Ladies,  Mike my sincere condolences on the death of your beloved vehicle.  I am sure she is happy, now that your big arse is no longer in the drivers seat.  No wonder the bloody thing crapped its self.  So Doc Bown got up last Sunday, well done to him.  I was primed to attend the prologue however a head cold and sore throat put an end to that idea.  There is always next year. I should be at the road race on Sunday so will see you there in my HOLDEN.  Vrooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks Dahl.  The Ford was honoured to haul my lardbutt around for 9 years, but in the end (no pun intended) it was too big a job, even for a legendary blue oval mobile.
