Race Day Volunteers
Over the next 2 weekends the club will run the final 3 races of the 2008 road calendar. These 3 races at Eudlo, North Arm and Kunda Park are worth 4 times the points of a regular club race and double a feature race. That is assuming they go ahead.
Volunteers are still needed for these events, especially Eudlo this weekend. If you are yet to avail yourself of $50 for doing a duty this year now is the time to step forward. If you’ve already done your share, you might wish to push forth a friend, spouse or family member to leave on a lonely street corner in exchange for something nice (a free cannibal cycling jersey perhaps).
Presentation Dinner
The dinner is to be held at the Waterfront Hotel, David Low Way, Bli Bli from 6pm October 24th. Tickets to be purchased before 19 October or before sold out - $35 members, $40 non members, $20 juniors.
Tickets are available now from Hot Pipis or by contacting Ross Blumel. Tickets will also be available at the Saturday morning junior sessions and club champs at Eudlo, North Arm and Kunda Park.
There will be a slide show running on the night so if anyone has any photos they would like to see displayed please forward them to me prior to the event.

Junior News
Last weekend saw numbers slightly down however the juniors put on a great show. Oddly enough, in the absence of Merv McDonald, the assistant handicappers 2 sons came in 1-2.

Track News
October 19th (not October 12th as previously advertised) from 3pm there will be a working bee at Caboolture velodrome to remove the final issue CQ has with the track, paving the way for Merv’s Junior Open track carnival on November 15th. This event already has 2 sponsors on board but more support for the juniors would be well received. Contact Merv if you would like to assist with sponsorship. Contact Big Mike if you can help in any way at the working bee.
The track season is about to start. The track sub-committee will be speaking to some key individuals from other clubs over the next couple of weeks and there will then be at least 4, up to possibly 9 events being run at Caboolture between November and March.
Wednesday nights at Caboolture velodrome are a great way to improve your leg speed and bike handling skills. Lights go on at 6:30pm. Contact Ross Blumel on 0418871105 or Dave Weir on 0405450624 for further details or if you need a track bike.
General News
There’s 2 new bike shops on the coast. Cycle Zone at 105 Brisbane Rd Mooloolaba and Chancellor Cycles has cloned itself at 39 Howard St Nambour.

Cycling Queensland is running administration workshops throughout October.
Club Meeting
The next club meeting will be at Maroochydore High School at 7pm on Thursday, November 6th.
